Residents living near Bemrose School in Derby are calling for action to deal with parking problems outside the school. Congestion outside Bemrose is causing a headache for residents and there are concerns that an accident could happen.
When the school finishes in the afternoon cars are parked outside the school right up Rowditch Avenue.
Earlier in the year local Lib Dem Cllr Bryan Lowe and campaigner Deirdre Mitchell met with Bemrose Headteacher Jo Ward to discuss the problem.
Campaigner Deirdre Mitchell said "The problem of inconsiderate parking outside Bemrose School is a serious one which needs solving. If you stand on the corner of Rowditch Avenue at school closing time you can see the road is packed with cars. Local residents find it a problem and there is a worry that there could be an accident.
"I have been working with Councillor Bryan Lowe and the Abbey Lib Dem Focus Team to try and solve the problem. As a first step we are recommending that yellow zig-zag lines be put outside the school. We have asked the council to do this."
