Liberal Democrats are campaigning to save services like Lancaster Sports centre for the many in Derby
Responding to a recent opinion poll which showed the Liberal Democrats were the party the public thought were for "the many not the few", leader of Derby Liberal Democrats Hilary Jones said; "Here in Derby we are fighting to maintain services for the many not the few".
"Whilst the Labour-Conservative alliance running the council cut service after service, the Liberal Democrats are campaigning to defend local services.
"Whether it is our opposition to the Council's attempts to close Lancaster Sports Centre. Whether it is our campaign against the Council's cuts to elderly and disabled people's meals on wheels. Whether it is our efforts to force the council to reopen the Junior Activity schemes for young people that the Council has closed. It is the Liberal Democrats who are campaigning to protect services for the many in Derby. Services which the Labour-Conservative alliance are cutting back."
