Local Liberal Democrats are leading the fight to save the Nottingham Road Post Office
Derby Council has passed a Liberal Democrat motion calling for a threatened Derby Post Office to be saved.
The motion called for the saving of the Nottingham Road Post Office in Chaddesden, which is the seventh Derby Post Office threatened with closure in recent months.
Proposer of the motion Liberal Democrat Cllr Lucy Care said, "I am glad the council has supported this motion.
"The Nottingham Road Post Office is well used and needs to be kept open. Enough of our Post Offices are being closed already without us losing another one.
"Hopefully Post Office Ltd and the government will get the message that this Post Office is needed and drop their plans to close it."
