Residents call for crossing to shops

Residents living in the Kingsway area of Derby are calling for a crossing to be put on a dangerous local road.
Local Liberal Democrat campaigners Cllr David Batey and Ajit Atwal were approached by local residents who were worried about how dangerous it is to cross the road at the top of the Kingsway Retail Park.
Responding to the concerns David Batey and Ajit Atwal have collected hundreds of signatures from people living near the route.
Ajit Atwal said "We had a big response to the petition. People are fed up of having to wait for a long time to cross the road at the top of the retail park because it is so busy. There are real concerns about how dangerous it is to cross the road there.
"I hope this pressure will get improvements to the crossing, they really are needed".
