Cllr Lucy Care, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokeswoman for Derby North, has launched a survey of over 40,000 households across Derby North.
Lucy Care is conducting this "listening to Derby North" exercise to see how local people's priorities have changed over the past year.
Lucy Care said "Derby North is a key Liberal Democrat/Labour marginal seat. With Gordon Brown's Labour government now so unpopular people are looking for a change.
"I am regularly contacted by people wishing to tell me about their hot issues. My survey is easy to complete and return so that I should get a wider range of views from local people.
"The results of the survey will therefore help me to represent people if they elect me to parliament at the General Election."
Questions in Lucy Care's survey deal with subjects including the state of the NHS, local schools, the environment and the affects of the recession.
